Student of the Year & Most Promising Student Awards 2005 |
|
Report |
The presentation for these Awards took place on the morning of Saturday 17 December 2005, at the Lyonsdown Hall dojang. The Student of the Year for 2005 is Steve Railton, 7th Kup. He receives a certificate and engraved trophy. Instructor Mr R. Adelagun with Student of the Year 2005 Steve Railton. Steve has been training at the school since the very first lesson in January 2004. He leads by example in his attitude and application to training and the school could not ask for a better student! He has excellent concentration, patience and all-round ability in Taekwon-Do and he sets an excellent example to the other students. I am looking forward to presenting him with his Black Belt in due course! Steve was not able to attend the presentation lesson - ironic considering that his attendance has been second-to--none throughout the year! - and so he will not receive his award until we come back to training in January 2006. Congratulations to Steve! The Most Promising Student for 2005 is Ilja Titov, 8th Kup. He receives a certificate and engraved trophy.
Instructor Mr R. Adelagun with Most Promising Student 2005 Ilja Titov. Ilja has taken to Taekwon-Do like a fish to water! He has a great deal of natural talent and ability and has been very keen to learn and progress. As well as achieving an 'A' grade pass in his most recent Little Dragons grading, Ilja has gone on to pass his Kup grading in December and has achieved Yellow belt, 8th Kup! In particular, Ilja's sparring is exceptionally good and several instructors at a recent tournament commented on his excellent technical ability and ringcraft. I have high hopes for his future competition performances at national level and beyond. In addition, Ilja demonstrates maturity and self-discipline that is very unusual for such a junior student. This made him the perfect choice for team captain at the recent Ellis TKD team tournament, where he led his team to Gold in Sparring! Very well done to him! Congratulations, also, to the following students for achieving A-Grade passes in their Little Dragons Gradings: Ilja Titov, Daniel McCarthy & Oliver Fletcher. |
